When does the summer season in Ibiza start?
In Spain the summer officially starts on June 21st and ends on September 23rd, however, let’s say the summer in Ibiza «starts» as soon as Amnesia, Hï Ibiza or Üshuaia throw their opening parties and go all the way to late October. So if you are planning to come to Ibiza for the summer, consider working from May to October.
When is the best time to go job-hunting in Ibiza?
Beach clubs, nightclubs, and other venues start announcing their casting calls in February/March. While hotels and restaurants usually start hiring in April/May. You want to make sure you have scavenged on social media all the companies that are most likely to put a job offer that you can qualify for based on your skills. Following them on social media is a great way to know when to drop your resumé and be the first in line at the casting calls. You may also go the old-fashion way and drop your CV in person in shops, bars, and restaurants that are already open. Having a friendly attitude and handing in your CV in hand may always add extra points to your advantage. When to look for accommodation in Ibiza for the summer?
One of the challenges that Ibiza season workers face on the island is finding accommodation for the summer season. It is never too early to start looking for your summer residency in Ibiza; the sooner you start, the bigger are your chances to find the perfect house for your Ibiza experience at a suitable price.
How much you should expect to pay for accommodation in Ibiza in the summer?
Accommodation costs vary depending on many factors: do you want to live in a shared apartment? do you want to live on your own? which area do you want to live in Ibiza? All these factors will play a significant role in your monthly rent. Areas such as San Jose, San Antonio, Cala de Bou, Santa Eulalia often offer lower rentals, whereas Marina Botafoch, Playa d’en Bossa, Talamanca, Ibiza City Center and Marina are usually the areas with the higher rental costs. On average, rentals in Ibiza vary from 900€-1.300€ a month for a 1-2 bedroom apartment and 1.500€-2.000€ a month for a standard 3-bedroom apartment. If you are coming to Ibiza on your own and can’t afford to rent an apartment for yourself, renting a room can range from 350€-550€ a month with extras such as water, electricity, and WiFi included depending on the area you want to stay.
